The Jonas Brothers Are The Worst Evil

My R.S essay - you know I'm right. DOOM ON JONAS BROTHERS!

THE WORST EVIL – THE JONAS BROTHERS

Young people in recent times have come under criticism for their narrow-minded approach to living their lives – they are constantly reprimanded for their lack of consideration for the consequences of their actions and their lack of attention paid to important life lessons in ethics and morality. For years, their elders have looked on in vain, desperately questioning why on earth their children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces have turned out so careless and irresponsible. Only now has the answer – this true evil in our midst – been unveiled; and it comes in the form of American pop brethren, the Jonas Brothers.

All that this ‘boy-band’ stands for is corrupt and damaging to young minds everywhere. For a start, they describe the genre of music they play as rock – a blatant lie, of course, which so clearly glamorizes dishonesty from a young age. They also have made a priority of singing about flippant, shallow issues such as girls and their affections for them – one video in particular begins with Joe Jonas discussing with his two siblings, Kevin and Nick, that he is sure that a bikini-clad is waving at him; even though the three have publicly worn purity rings to demonstrate their celibacy until after marriage. The three also have talked flippantly about driving dangerously and even murder – Joe Jonas once remarked to an interviewer that he was going to, “kill you, put you in the trunk of my car, take you to the desert, then I’m gonna see if your okay.” Such disregard for morality and consideration is poisoning young peoples mind to the point of disorientation. There are sites across the internet that claim to be Jonas Brother fanfiction – teenage girls across the world are so blind to the world around them and so addicted to this teenage phenomenon that they are even confused as to what is even fact or fiction anymore.

The total disregard the brothers seem to manufacture which is then lapped up by their adoring fans is what is causing this spiral into irresponsibility and lack of consideration towards their futures. They play on the Disney Channel, a channel aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 14, and sing constantly about the pains of adolescence and romantic feelings for the opposite gender – encouraging their younger listeners into growing up at an alarming rate and could potentially lead to more teenage pregnancies as teenage romance is so glamorized. It is this blindness that the band seems to radiate – this total disregard for what really matters – that is causing the damage. It may sound ridiculous, but who is to say that there isn’t a criminal intention behind the Jonas Brothers and their quest to gather legions of fans across the globe? Why do these three boys think that they have any right to distract younger people from their studies and in turn oppress their individual spirit into just another fan who cannot see further than past Kevin Jonas’ hairline? Recently a young, intelligent girl announced to me that “every time she closed her eyes, she saw Joe Jonas” - and that he was all she could think about. One can only hope their domination will soon end and we will be free from this controlling, immoral enterprise that is the Jonas Brothers – before it’s too late.

I quite like the Jonas Brothers. Their music makes me happy and it's fun to dance to. But you're quite right: it's certainly not rock. The only thing I disagree with is the whole purity rings thing: just because they wear them doesn't mean they don't date or act like regular guys.
But that's just my two cents. If you truly dislike them, that's perfectly okay. I like Twilight, too .:cowers in fear:. But I also love HP and PJO and Narnia and LotR, so does that redeem myself?

There's nothing to redeem - you like certain things, I like other things; it's cool! I appreciate your views - believe me, my friends think the same way as you!

I hate the Jonas Brothers. Their hairdos stink. And your first thought would be, 'Boy band? BOY band!? Isn't that a girl in the front..?' And then you realize it's Joe.
