Ray Winstone is playing Ares! He's been in EVERYTHING, from The Departed, Sweeney Todd, Narnia, Indiana Jones, Macbeth, Henry VIII....they're really going all out to secure a big cast!

Casting Rumours....Again

So, looks like there's been a lot of casting news. This is Joe Pantoliano, who is rumoured to be playing Gabe - he's been in the Matrix, Racing Stripes and played Pan in Hercules (how ironic), and this is what he looks like :)


And this is Dimitri Lekkos, who is rumoured to be playing Apollo - and I have to admit, he does make me giggle a little girlishly *blushes* He's been in...um, very little, to be honest with you - but I like him.



We also have Christie Laing, who is rumoured to be playing an 'Aphrodite Girl' - to be honest, she looks more like the Silena I envisioned. She's been in Scary Movie 4 and Smallville.



And this is Stefanie von Pfetten, who is rumoured to be playing Demeter - she's been in The Call and Battlestar Galactica.



Another Aphrodite girl - Marie Avgeropoulos, apparently, who has been in I Love You, Beth Cooper. She seems quite pouty:



There are also a couple of cops and uncredited class mates - there's this one 'Smart Ass Kid', who I think will be a bully at Camp or School - this is him, his name is Richard Harmon, he's been Smallville as well:



There's also a girl down as 'Pretty Girl' - I wonder who she could be?!

Casting Rumours

So, IMDB is saying that Silena and Aphrodite have been cast forr the Lightning Thief movie. And we all know how reliable THEY are...but they were right about Luke, so hey-ho. If it's true, then this is the casting for Silena (I was hoping for dark hair and less of a Disney Channel look, but hey) - her name is Chelan Simmons, and she's been in John Tucker Must Die, Final Destination 3, Good Luck Chuck and Kyle XY - and Smallville. She's also apparently played Lindsay Lohan...but I'll leave that up to you to judge...:



And this is Aphrodite, apparently called Serinda Swan (be wary of the google search, it's got a bit too many indecent images that I was NOT aware of when I searched: this was the only photo without cleavage and...well, you know the drill):



Apparently she's been in Smallville, Supernatural and Psych, whatever that is...

I'm not a big fan, but hey - I'll sit back and see when the movie comes out. And if these are wrong, I'm sorry - just trying to keep you posted!

PS. The guy who wrote the screenplay for the Lightning Thief also did Shrek and Shrek 2! And Shrek 3 was crap and he wasn't involved, so maybe it'll be better. I love Shrek 2. I love the music. *dances*

Sally Jackson Casting Announced

This is the casting announced for Sally Jackson - her name is Katharine Keener, and she's been in Into The Wild and Capote (they sound famous, but I've never seen them...) I have to say that I imagined Sally a little younger, but she seems nice looking enough, right?

And I just found out I actually beat Rick Riordan into posting the casting. Wow! That's cool!

Luke Casting Announced

So, this is Luke - for the movie, anyway. His name is Jake Abel, a relatively unknown young actor. He looks pretty good for Luke from what I can see, if a little baby-faced. But oh well. Seems alright so far.

I'm not sure about Uma Thurman playing Medusa (?) and definitely not sure about Pierce Brosnan. I mean, Chiron is James Bond? Chiron sings in Mamma Mia? Oo-er! Should be..interesting!

The woman who plays the Fury is really scary looking! Look:




Seriously. *shudders* And Sean Bean for Zeus? I love Sean Bean, but this makes me chuckle. A lot. And Poseidon is Kevin McKidd, which I don't agree with - I saw him in Made Of Honour. He was okay. Scottish, though - not too sure how that will work! Poseidon in a kilt? Hmm. Fingers crossed that he will put on an accent - as much as I like the Scottish accent, I have a feeling it might not fit. He's also blonde...which is a little odd. But we'll wait and see.

And rumour as it that they're re-casting Annabeth... Ah. We can dream, I suppose.
